Blamey Community Group

Blamey Community Group is a community group run solely by volunteers who are connected to the defence lifestyle and currently reside in the Riverina.

Our Purpose

Blamey Community Group is a TRI service, not for profit, community organisation that aims to support defence individuals, veterans and their families by providing a supportive and inclusive environment that facilitates friendships, sharing of knowledge, a sense of belonging and integrating within the local community here in the Riverina.

We hope we can help to facilitate friendships, connection and a sense of community with you while you call the Riverina home.

We are able to run the programs and events we do due to our primary source of funding which comes from the Family Support Funding Program. This is provided by the Department of Defence.

Our MISSION

We aim to support individuals, veterans, partners and their families living the Defence lifestyle by:

  • offering opportunities for the development of support networks, friendships and the sharing of knowledge; 
  • running subsidised or free programs and activities for members to minimise the impacts of the Defence lifestyle;
  • providing a network to assist members to settle into, actively participate in and contribute to the local community; 
  • creating a sense of belonging, identity and integration with the local community.

Your Community Coordinator

My name is Anna and I have been working as the Blamey Community Group Inc Community Support Coordinator since the end of 2022 – so you might have seen me at the centre or floating around at the events. I have been living in Wagga for 25 years and have been involved in different sporting clubs, and local community activities.

Come down and visit me- we have varoius family friendly events running during the week, or if you just want to come have a chat and a coffee, I am at the Centre from Mon-Thurs, 9:30am to 2pm.

I am here to support the wonderful members of the Blamey Community Group Inc and can’t wait to meet you.
